Organization and Its Mission
The mission of the Manchester Athletic Association (MAA) is to provide a safe, educational and competitive environment for youth baseball and softball in Dearborn County. The MAA has been in existence for over 20 years.
The MAA supports approximately 150 to 200 boys and girls, ages 4 to 15, in youth baseball/softball for approximately 150 to 200 children in Dearborn County each year. Beneficiaries of the organization and its programs include the youth participants who live in Moores Hill, Aurora, Manchester, Lawrenceburg and even Sunman and Milan. We offer regular season games with at least seven area programs including Aurora, Milan, Moores Hill, Sunman, East Central and Hidden Valley.
We average 3 tournaments per year, hosting teams from the Tri-State area. The MAA shares its mission with other area baseball and softball programs, and still offers a unique identity as the community that is nestled between Aurora and Lawrenceburg to the east, Moores Hill to the south, Sunman and Milan to the west and St. Leon and Bright to the north.
Another unique characteristic about the community of Manchester is that various children in this community officially attend Aurora, Moores Hill, Milan and Sunman schools, further showing the unique opportunity the MAA has in providing baseball and softball programs.
To keep the atmosphere fun and exciting for the kids, we plan an Opening Day event where all teams from Tee-Ball to Majors play at home, and a End-Of-Season event with games, parent/coach wacky softball game and trophy awards for each participant.
We strive to provide up-to-date uniforms with hats, belted pants and mesh shirts for boys. For the girls we provide a visor, shorts and a sleeveless uniform style hinley shirt.
We are a registered not-for-profit with the State of Indiana.
